GLOBAL CORE EDUCATION
2023 Lectures, courses and workshops
The Omni Institute believes in nurturing new and open ways of thinking by staying up to date on research regarding principles about health and performance of the human body. These principles are included in the Global Core curriculum. Courses are designed in such a way as to insure that professionals can take their newfound knowledge and apply it to their practice immediately.

Movement Screen and Exercise Prescription
Description:
This program will allow the fitness professionals to attain 2 main skill sets:
- How to perform a movement screen that will allow them to quickly and systematically determine the biomechanics of specific joints as well as the biomechanics of integrated functional motion.
- Understand joint biomechanics, muscle function and their integration into human movement and exercise.
It is a very practical course in which the understanding of the above information will be used to evaluate individuals and create muscle isolated and integrated exercise that can be put into practice immediately.
Instructor:
Dev Chatterjee, Performance Specialist. Licensed Physiotherapist
Dates:
Trunk and Spine – June 24-25, 2023 *
Upper Extremity – July 22-23, 2023
Lower Extremity – August 19-20, 2023
Duration:
2 days/module
Cost:
$450 tx. incl./module * Lunch and snacks during breaks provided by Omni Athletix
NMR (Neuromechanical Reconditioning)
Date:
2024 Dates coming Soon
The emphasis of this workshop is to introduce the participant to the integrative human performance model that applies to any student/professional in the fields of rehabilitation therapy, body work (massage, rolf, etc), kiniseology, biomechanics, fitness and high end athletic development. It will allow the practitioner to evaluate and intervene via specific exercises and hands on work that re-establishes optimal tension by the reconditioning of the NeuroMyoFascial system. Application to both joint and soft tissue problems will be discussed.
This is a 4 module workshop style series that will apply the above principles and techniques to the whole body.
Each 3.5 day workshop will allow both fitness and health professionals to evaluate the body by creating a neuromechanical profile of the individual. This evaluation includes specific ROM tests that seek out tightness/instability synergy and NMFR (Neuromyofascial Response) tests which are types of tests that allow the practitioner to understand the individuals connectivity to muscles and facial stability. Neuromyofascial “circuit breakers” will be introduced. This consists of how dysfunction in neural connectivity in surrounding areas of the body can inhibit a local area and vice versa. Treatment techniques via exercise and manual activation will be shown with the ultimate goal of re-establishing optimal neuromechanics.
This will be a hands on course. Practitioners will be able to apply what they learn in their practice immediately.
Theory:
- Cellular Tensegrity
- Non mechanical factors that effect neuromechanics
- Connective tissue mechanics
- Anatomy review
- Joint biomechanics
- Muscle Function
- defining axis
- defining lines of force
- joint capability
Practical:
- I and I (isolated to integrated) movement screen
- Standard strength tests vs. NMFR tests
- Manual Activation
- Exercise creation to re-establish proper neuromechanics – isolated and integrative

Isolated to Integrated Screen
This course is a movement screen for fitness and healthcare professionals that will allow them to quickly and systematically determine the biomechanics of specific joints as well as the biomechanics of integrated functional motion. This bridges the gap between observing compensatory motion during exercise and truly understanding where the root problem is coming from. By the end of the course the professional will be able to perform the screen, analyze the findings and determine which exercises and activities are appropriate for the client. Corrective measures will be discussed.

Advanced Muscle Function, Biomechanics and Exercise Prescription
This course will allow health and fitness professionals to gain an understanding of joint biomechanics, muscle function and their integration into human movement. It is a very practical course in which the understanding of the above theory will be used to create muscle isolated and integrated exercise that can be put into practice immediately.

Supercharging the body before activity
There exists a lot of controversy on how to optimally prepare the body for activity whether it be for high level sports or general health and fitness. In this lecture we will analyze the current tools that are being used (i.e. warm-up, stretching, etc.) and discuss their advantages and disadvantages. Learn new and exciting concepts on how to stimulate the neuromuscular system and see how they can be used to supercharge the body so you can gain maximum performance out of your activities.
Duration:
4 hour workshop
